Publish downloadable assets
VDO-X offers advanced asset publishing and media embed code generating features. The provided transparent CDN URL dynamically redirects your viewers to any available service in the CDN cloud.
For simplicity, we've left out the more advanced features, such as logical asset intelligence, mobile, iOS, Smooth Streaming and HTML5 publishing. Feel free to request a trial account in our online store so you can test drive our service hands on.
In Manage Assets, click on Embed Code / URL for a downloadable asset. Copy and paste the CDN URL in your website or portal. Your asset is now live and will be delivered from the available servers in our CDN cloud.
Publish VOD and Live streams
In Manage Assets or Manage Live Streams, click on Embedcode / URL for a streaming asset or publishing point.
The Embed Code Wizard shows you which services can be used to deliver this stream. Select a Delivery Service.
The Embed Code Wizard also shows you which clients can be used to playback the content. Select a Media Player.
Depending on the player you can adjust image size, volume, autoplay and hide menu bar options.
Hit the Generate Embed Code button and click Preview to view your content.
The generated embed codes works with all popular browsers and available media players. We bundle great Silverlight and Flash players so you can publish your content immediately.
Copy and paste the code into your webpage.
The embed codes require javascripts to be run from your web server. Download the JS Files archive from the Embed Code Generator, unzip the archive and install these scripts in your website root, in the /embed/ directory.
Copy the appropriate javascript tags in the HEAD of your web page. You can find these tags in the readme file in the JS Files archive.
Make sure that the paths to the scripts in the embed code and javascript tags reflect the location of your JS files.
Tip: the Embed Code generator also shows the CDN URL for the asset so you can use any media client with our CDN. Note that the URL's generate a metafile. The media client must support these standards based XML, XSPF, ASX, WMX, MOV or WML metafile types.
